Visas & Immigration
Entry visas are required by all except the following for stays of up to 60 days:
- nationals of Britain, Australia, Canada, USA, Other EU, Japan
- nationals of Commonwealth countries (except nationals of Antigua & Barbuda, Bangladesh, Cameroon, India, Maldives, Mauritius, Mozambique, Nigeria, Pakistan and Sri Lanka who do require a visa)
- nationals of Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein, Norway, Poland, San Marino and Taiwan.
Visitors are advised to verify information before traveling as visa requirements are subject to change without notification.
There are border posts at the following locations:
Lavumisa, Mahamba, Gege, Sicunusa, Sandlane/Nerston, Oshoek/Ngwenya, Bulembu, Matsamo, Mananga and Lomahasha
The majority of visitors will be traveling from South Africa's Kruger National Park in the north, and will therefore enter the Kingdom via either Matsamo (open 07h00 - 20h00) or Mananga (open 07h00 - 18h00) border posts. Those of you continuing south into South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal region, will most likely cross the border again at Lavumisa (open 07h00 - 22h00). An entry levy is charged, from E5 (ZAR5) and upwards, depending on the class of vehicle.
Road conditions throughout Swaziland are generally good, with main roads being tarred. Some potholes can be expected, and the roads in the west of the Kingdom pass through very mountainous countryside, so please allow plenty of time to get to your destination.
