Day 1 Dar es Salaam - Selous Game Reserve
Your incoming flight arrives at Dar es Salaam Airport this morning. You are transferred to a local hotel where you will have use of a day room. In the afternoon you are transferred back to the airport for your short flight to Selous Game Reserve. Game viewing this afternoon is by 4x4 or by boat (your choice).
You stay for 4 nights at the luxurious Selous Safari Camp on a full board basis. This elegant and intimate tented camp is situated on the banks of the Rufiji River, affording guests an unmatched experience of the African bush.
Day 2 Selous Game Reserve
Enjoy an early morning escorted walk, game drive or boat trip, returning to camp for lunch. Relax by the pool in the heat of the day before embarking on your afternoon game-viewing safari.
Days 3 and 4 Selous Game Reserve
Choose from the multitude of activities to do at the Selous Safari Camp or embark on an experience of a lifetime - a two day walking safari with nights spent in purpose made "fly" tents. Walks are conducted in the coolest part of the day in some of the best African big game walking terrain to be found. The nights are spent with your guide who hosts the entire safari around the camp fire under the canopy of millions of stars listening to the sounds of unspoilt Africa.
Day 5 Selous - Ruaha National Park
After an early breakfast you fly into the Ruaha National Park, arriving in time for lunch and a rest before your afternoon game drive. Largely unexplored, this unspoilt and uncommercialised park is considered by many to be "the real Africa".
You stay for 5 nights at Jongomero Camp, a luxury safari camp set under shady acacia trees on the banks of the Jongomero Sand River in the remote south-western sector of Ruaha. Being the only Camp situated in this area of the Park ensures unmatched privacy.
Days 6,7,8 and 9 Ruaha National Park
Four full days to enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in this spectacular wilderness. Discover and photograph the breathtaking scenery, undisturbed wildlife and prolific birdlife of Ruaha. Predators abound here. African wild dogs are a special frequent sighting. The big cats are never far away. When you're not game viewing, relax by the camp's natural rock pool, or on your shaded and spacious private veranda.
Day 10 Ruaha - Ras Kutani
A last breakfast in the African bush before you depart on your flight to Dar es Salaam (~2 ½ hours). From here you take a second quick flight (~10 minutes) to Ras Kutani, 35kms south, on the white sands of the Indian Ocean. This elegant beach hideaway is your home for the next 3 nights.
Days 11 and 12 Ras Kutani
Nestled between tropical forest, a freshwater lagoon and a crescent of private white sandy beach, Ras Kutani has just 12 private bandas, guaranteeing tranquillity and privacy. Enjoy lazy days walking, swimming, snorkelling, sailing, kayaking, deep sea fishing, or simply chilling in a hammock. Feast on fresh fruits, seafood platters and beach braais (barbeques)
Day 13 Ras Kutani - Dar es Salaam
Enjoy a last relaxing morning at the beach before catching your return flight to Dar es Salaam. Your flight time will depend on your onward travel arrangements.
