Classic Zambezi Safari
(8 days/7 nights)
A safari for the adventurous traveller! Enjoy 3 days at Victoria Falls, the "adrenaline capital" of Southern Africa. Combine this with 4 nights on safari in one of Africa's last unspoilt wilderness areas- the Lower Zambezi National Park. Experience the thrill of walking and canoe safaris, with up close encounters with big game.
Days 1 - 3 Victoria Falls
Your international flight arrives into Livingstone Airport, where you are met by our representative, and transfer by road to Sussi Lodge, located on the banks of the Zambezi River within the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park.
You stay for 3 nights in a luxurious tree house lodge, hidden discreetly amongst giant ebony trees, overlooking the river. The National Park is best known for its giraffe and white rhino but also boasts buffalo, zebra, sable, eland, wildebeest, migratory elephant and many other species. Activities from the lodge include guided game drives, walking tours of the Victoria Falls, visits to the local craft market, boat cruises and fishing on the great Zambezi River. The Victoria Falls is famous for its many ‘adrenaline' activities, including bungi jumping, micro light flights, elephant back safaris and white water rafting - all of which may be organised through the lodge.
Days 4 - 7 Lower Zambezi National Park
Depart after breakfast for your flight to the Lower Zambezi National Park. The park remains a pristine wilderness area, and you enjoy your first game drive from the airstrip to Kulefu Camp, set on a small channel of the Zambezi River. This intimate safari camp is settled in the deep shade of tall riverine trees, overlooking the legendary Zambezi River and its lush islands.
The Lower Zambezi National Park is an extremely remote area with abundant and varied wildlife including the ‘Big Four' (there are no rhino here). There are good populations of elephant, lion, buffalo, waterbuck, leopard, hyena, zebra, various gazelle and many bird species.
After sunset, when the paraffin lamps glow softly among the trees, the chink of glass and china as dinner is served is often accompanied by the nocturnal voices of leopard or a rare fishing owl. In the morning, your quest for an unforgettable wildlife viewing adventure will begin.
Discover Kulefu's magnificent wildlife by boat, canoe, safari vehicle or on foot - and from the veranda of your own comfortable and very spacious tent.
Day 8 Livingstone - Onward Connections
Enjoy a last game drive through the Lower Zambezi National Park before taking your flight back to Livingstone to do your final curio shopping before your departing flight/ transfer.
