Kenya Wilderness Experience
This week-long safari combines Kenya's finest wildlife areas … Amboseli – the best place in Kenya to see elephants at close range, and enjoy wonderful views of Mount Kilimanjaro; Selenkay Conservancy, an exclusive wilderness area where Masai warriors lead you on bush walks; the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the largest rhino conservancy in East Africa overlooking the snow-capped Mount Kenya, and the Masai Mara, famous for the spectacular wildebeest migration between June and October each year.

Your overnight stops:

  • Amboseli Porini Camp, Selenkay Conservancy (2 nights)
  • Porini Rhino Camp, Ol Pejeta Conservancy (2 nights)
  • Porini Lion Camp, Olare Orok Conservancy (2 nights)

The Safari Camps are small and exclusive and run on the same environmentally sound principles - working closely with the local communities. All camps are specially designed to have minimum impact with no permanent structures.

Included:

  • Transfers between each camp by scheduled air service with a flight to get you straight to the wildlife without spending hours traveling between the parks over rough roads.
  • Game drives from the camps in 4x4 safari vehicles (not vans) with excellent guides.
  • Walks with Maasai warriors, opportunity for night game drives, exclusive wilderness areas with no tourist minibuses.
  • An authentic safari experience staying in small exclusive camps with spacious guest tents, comfortably furnished with private bathrooms, solar lights and located in attractive unspoilt natural settings.
  • At the camps all meals, drinks (wine, gin & tonic, beer, sodas, mineral water), game drives, walks, night drives and sundowners are included in the price.

Detailed Itinerary

Meals included each day are indicated (B=Breakfast; L=Lunch; D=Dinner)

Day 1 Nairobi – Amboseli & Selenkay Conservancy (L,D)
09.00 pickup from hotel and transfer by safari minibus to Amboseli Porini Camp (a 3 hour journey of 102 miles), arriving at Porini Camp before lunch. Following afternoon tea, you will be escorted on a walk by Maasai warriors to a village to get an insight into their fascinating culture and way of life. Then take a game drive in the conservancy followed by a sundowner at a scenic spot overlooking Kilimanjaro. Night game drive and return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2  Amboseli & Selenkay Conservancy (B,L,D)
Awake to the noisy calls of the birds. After an early breakfast, we drive through the bush on our private track into Amboseli National Park, for a full morning of game viewing. Following a picnic lunch in the park, we return to Porini Camp later in the afternoon. In the evening you will go on a game drive in Selenkay Conservancy, stopping for a sundowner at a scenic viewpoint, followed by a night game drive to look for nocturnal animals such as aardvarks, serval cats, caracals, bat-eared foxes, African wild cats, and other species. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3  Amboseli - Ol Pejeta Conservancy (B,L,D)
Early breakfast and then drive through Amboseli park to the airstrip for the 0945 Safarilink flight to Wilson, connecting onto the 1020 flight to Nanyuki, arriving at 1240. You will be met at the airstrip and transferred to Porini Rhino Camp, located in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, in the foothills of Mount Kenya. Lunch and afternoon tea in camp and then head off to look for rhino with your driver-guide in the camp’s 4x4 safari vehicle. Return to Porini Rhino Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day  4  Ol Pejeta Conservancy (B,L,D)
Full day in Ol Pejeta with game drives and walking activities from camp. Overnight Porini Rhino Camp.

Day 5  Ol Pejeta - Mara & Olare Orok Conservancy (B,L,D)
Depart Porini Rhino Camp and fly from Nanyuki on the 09.45 Safarilink flight to Mara arriving at 11.00. You will be met and transferred to Porini Lion Camp. Lunch and afternoon tea in camp and then go on a game drive or escorted walk followed by a sundowner and night drive with spotlight. Return to Porini Lion Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 6  Maasai Mara National Park (B,L,D)
Full day in the Maasai Mara National Park with picnic lunch. Overnight Porini Lion Camp. 

Day 7
Final early morning game drive and then depart on the 11.00 Safarilink flight to Wilson arriving back to Nairobi at 12.15.

 

Kenya Wilderness Experience: PRICES ARE IN US$
2 nights Amboseli Porini Camp (Selenkay Conservancy), 2 nights Porini Rhino Camp (Ol Pejeta Conservancy), 2 nights Porini Lion Camp (Olare Orok Conservancy).
PRICES include Road transfer from Nairobi to Amboseli Porini. Flights Amboseli-Wilson-Nanyuki/Ol Pejeta-Mara-Wilson. Amboseli Porini for 2 nights, Amboseli park fees and conservancy fees, Porini Rhino Camp for 2 nights including all park /conservancy fees, and 2 nights Porini Lion Camp, park fees and conservancy fees included. All game drives in 4x4 vehicles, fullboard and free house wines, beer and soft drinks. And all activities at Porini Camps.

Children (8-16years) each pay 60% if sharing with 2 adults; If sharing with 1 adult the adult pays single supp and child pays 50%; 2 children in own tent 75% of adult rate each; 4th child in tent is strongly discouraged due to limited space in tent and shower/toilet facilities. The camp is not suitable for children under 8yrs.
Each tent has a double & single bed, 3rd adult in tent charged at normal rate
